Rosie Stewart

It is with great shock and immense sadness that I report that one of our young members, Rosie Stewart (17), was tragically killed in a car accident on her way to school last Friday, November 2nd.  Rosie rode some wonderful working hunter ponies to great success - most recently with Godsfield Fandango - a pony she bought on herself from a 4 year old to compete at the Royal International.  She went on, with another horse, to be selected to represent Great Britain at the Junior European Three Day Event Championships in Switzerland earlier this year.  She and her Mother, Marion, were very active members of Area 7, both as competitors and stewards and Rosie will be greatly missed by the many people who knew her

Rosie's brother Ben has set up a tribute page on Facebook (follow the link http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5619079434)

If you would like to put something in writing to her Mother and Father, Marion and James, and her brother Ben, their address is:

The "Ribbon for Rosie" campaign is being started at the BE Event Ball, to raise money for a fund to be distributed to Rosie's family for a campaign of their choice.  We hope to be able to continue this  at our AGM and Points Awards Lunch on November 18th

If you would like to make a donation to the Ribbon For Rosie campaign, please click here and you will be sent further details

OHTO/Spring Festival Addington
We had a tremendous 2 day show - the weather held out, even if it was a little chilly on Saturday morning.  The standard of ponies forward, was very high in the majority of the classes

The course-builder did a fantastic job on Sunday and proved that jumping is still the most important requirement of a worker, without causing any injuries (as far as I am aware).  Certainly those that won tickets should not be too surprised when they get to Hickstead

A huge thank you from the organising team to all competitors - you were all very cheery, no complaining, just enjoying yourselves.  It makes our lives so much easier on such a busy 2 days.

We have booked Addington for the same weekend next year !!

Visit the Shows page to download the results

Unfortunately, Addington EC are unable to offer us any dates until the end of April and so the Committee have taken the decision not to re-schedule the Winter Show that was postponed due to the snow and ice.  We are sorry for the disappointment and will try to make next year's show bigger and better still...

Fritwell Show April 30th 2006
We are so grateful to our generous sponsors, who make it possible to run this show every year.  A very big "thank-you" to all those who volunteered to help to make the day a good one - especially the stewards and Marguerite and her team in the office.  Not forgetting our landlords, Mr and Mrs Loggin, the judges and not least our course-builder - who set tongues and nerves wagging with his ingenious courses
